North East Herts MP Sir Oliver Heald joined Baldock and Clothall WI for their litter pick around Baldock on Sunday. The group started their litter pick at the Orange Tree pub and made off in all directions picking litter as they went, collecting 20 bags of litter in all.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said “I was delighted to join the WI litter pick on Sunday and to see the great work being done by the volunteers. Many local residents remarked how good it was to see people doing this and it was tremendous to be able to collect 20 sacks of rubbish and recycling. I congratulate the WI on this regular initiative. It is important to keep Britain tidy and Baldock too.”
