Icon Connect, a world leader in providing Smart Home Technology for Super Yachts, Super Homes and Commercial entities on an internationals stage, were today, delighted to welcome their local Member of Parliament, the Right Honourable Sir Oliver Heald QC, to their head office in Letchworth.
Icon Connect have been in regular contact with Sir Oliver over the last year and he has been very supportive in seeking advice over both COVID and BREXIT Government support.
Paul Rose, Director, told Sir Oliver during the visit, “This has been an unprecedented period for the company as it has for many businesses, but Covid on top of BREXIT has added another layer of complexity we could never have planned for. We have however managed to continue to operate throughout the last year both domestically and internationally. Some 75% of our revenues are from the EU and we have contracts to fulfil.
We are positive about the future and have found that BREXIT has not stopped us from winning new projects. The company have been operating in European shipyards for over 20 years and have a very good reputation for quality and innovation. The Government Furlough scheme has been extremely helpful to our continuing business for which we are very grateful, as we are for your interest and support of our business. We have projects which have continued throughout, particularly in the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy, as well as the UK. We have asked for a big commitment from our staff, and they have delivered”.
Sir Oliver was able to see some of Icon Connect’s technology that had just been inspected and tested by Clients prior to being packed and shipped to Italy in June. The projects is worth over £1 million and is part of an in installation into a 74m Superyacht.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said: ‘It was good to see the high-end technology and innovation involved in these entertainment systems, which are made in Letchworth and fitted in luxury settings in this country and all over the world. A company such as Icon Connect makes North Hertfordshire proud.’
