North East Hertfordshire MP Sir Oliver Heald has welcomed Affinity Water’s Save our Streams Campaign that seeks to save globally rare chalk streams from the brink.
Affinity Water’s campaign, which has already reached more than 25,000 people, has been launched to join the fight in preserving the UK’s chalk streams, a campaign that Sir Oliver has been committed to for many years.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said: “This is a great initiative launched by Affinity Water. It will help gather support for the campaign we have been committed to since 2014. During that time, we have brought the issue of the preservation of Chalk Streams to the Houses’ attention and set up an All-Party Parliamentary Group on Chalk Streams. The commitment of one of the biggest water providers to help protect these precious streams is great news.”
