North East Hertfordshire MP Sir Oliver Heald has welcomed the New Homes Quality Board as a step towards the creation of a New Homes Ombudsmen Service.
The interim New Homes Quality Board aims to ensure that the house building industry is working collaboratively with all parties to ensure it is delivering new homes of the highest possible quality, and to hold it to account in the instances where it does not.
The New Homes Quality Board was established in May 2020 and has subsequently been incorporated on 6th January 2021. The Board has been designed through the Home Builders Federation, which comprises the house building industry together with key stakeholders.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said: ‘This is a welcomed step towards setting up a New Homes Ombudsmen Service. It will help ensure that all buyers and additional stakeholders will benefit from the creation of new homes.’
