Dear Sirs
Proposed changes to London Luton Airport Airspace Consultation Document
I write in response to the London Luton Airspace consultation document and my views are in line with the Hertfordshire County Council and a preference in the short term for Option One.
Hertfordshire has had recent experience of Performance Based Navigation (PBN) airspace change in Hemel Hempstead and St. Albans. This particular airspace change had adverse noise consequences on people living below the more concentrated routes.
I accept that creating a new hold to deal exclusively with London Luton Airport’s arrivals will have an overall benefit, particularly taking away arrivals from the ‘LOREL’ hold that sits above Royston.
I understand that the AMS FASI-South process will lead to long term conclusions.
With that said, a full assessment of options through the AMS FASI-South process must take place to facilitate a greater understanding of the longer term implications dependent on planning decisions.
If you could kindly note my preference for Option One in the short term and keep me updated on the progress of the consultation and also of the AMS FASI-South process, that would be most appreciated.
