North East Hertfordshire MP, Oliver Heald, has welcomed the news that Tesco have decided to install rapid Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points at Tesco Extra, Baldock.  

The chargers will primarily be 7kW chargers, giving EVs about 30 miles range in an hours charge, and will be free of charge. In addition to the 7kW chargers, Tesco will also be rolling out rapid 50kW charge points, available at a small cost, providing full charge for most EVs in a similar time frame.  

Commenting, Sir Oliver said: “The roll out of charging points for electric vehicles is very important so that the country has the infrastructure to meet our national Climate Change targets. I congratulate Tesco for choosing their excellent and popular store in Baldock for this initiative.”
