North East Herts MP Oliver Heald met with Letchworth constituent and equality campaigner Sophie Tennison to congratulate her on graduation from the Scope for Change programme.
Scope for Change is a programme specifically designed for disabled people between the ages of 18-25, who are passionate about disabled campaigning. Sophie’s campaign is called ‘The Missing Percent’, which tackles the lack of representation of disabled people in the arts and media, whilst also educating people on why disabled representation matters.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said “Scope for Change is a great initiative and I congratulate Sophie on her graduation from the scheme. Sophie’s campaign, ‘The Missing Percent’, is an excellent campaign, founded on great principles and a step in the right direction for the greater representation of disabled people in the arts and media.”
