"I accept the national result of the referendum. I campaigned to Remain in the EU and my constituents voted to remain. We were outvoted by other parts of the country.

I am sad that we have lost our Prime Minister. I will consult with colleagues about the best way forward.

I will press for an agreement with the EU which meets local and national needs."
