NE Herts MP Sir Oliver Heald has welcomed the campaign by The Good Grief Trust to place ‘Help and Hope’ plaques on public park benches across the country, ensuring people get to know about bereavement support available in their area.
Commenting, Oliver said: ‘The ‘Sit with Hope’ campaign has been endorsed by the APPG on Bereavement Support as a simple and effective way to get this vital information across at a time of sadness when support is most needed. I was delighted with North Herts Council’s positive response. In an email to me Andrew Mills wrote:
"I’m pleased to be able to report that we have been able to progress your request for the introduction of plaques supporting the Good Grief Trust.
We will have plaques in each of our urban towns in the following areas –
Priory Memorial Gardens Royston
Avenue Park Baldock
Howard Park and Gardens Letchworth (awaiting installation)
Bancroft Recreation Ground Hitchin
Thank you for bringing this initiative to our attention for this very worthwhile organisation.”
