North East Hertfordshire MP Sir Oliver Heald has welcomed the success of the North East Herts Demand Response Travel bid, as it has been selected by the Department of Transport to receive £1,472,000 over 4 years.  

The Demand Response Travel (DRT) scheme will serve North and East Herts, focusing primarily on Buntingford and surrounding areas.  

Travel will be allowed anywhere within the zone (indicated in the picture above) and passengers will also be able to travel to key points such as Hospitals and high streets within the six main towns surrounding the area.  

Commenting, Sir Oliver said: “This is very good news for my constituents in rural areas. Demand Response Travel is essential to keeping people connected and greater transport coverage and responsiveness will allow for this.”
